HEATH Ceramics!!!

Entrance to Studio!

pieces right out of the mold, part of a large order for Japan

The Studio

Adam Silverman and Heath's "Hybrid" Vase Collection

Last month I got the honor and privilege to work at Heath Ceramics in Los Angeles. I was called in to help get through a large order for Japan, and things have not slowed down! Adam Silverman http://www.atwaterpottery.com/ runs the showroom at Heath's Los Angeles location, as well as producing work out of his studio there. It has been so much fun seeing ceramics at a mass produced level, and how it's all made by hands!!! Come check out the store located on Beverly Blvd. http://www.heathceramics.com/go/heath/

Oh Honey Bear!

On display at the New York Gift Show in the "Mica" glaze.

One of the pieces in our "Cast Things" line at Lesley Anton, is the ever adorable honey bear. Cast from the bottle she used for her dish soap, we replicate our little friend in porcelain clay. We've surfaced the bears in a metallic "Mica" glaze, making them statuesque, or a flat- black under glaze leaving a quiet, yet strong presence where ever he is. They are available in any of the glazes, so you can choose what kind of bear you'll have.  Initially made to be purely sculptural, he is now available with a hole in the spout, transforming into the sweetest, little single-stem vase.

Thanks to my mold master friend, Uri, I'm using a rubber casting process to mass produce the bears. They are covered in the first layer of pink rubber! So yummy!

It was SOOO fun!  We met a bunch of awesome people and are now back in the studio working away! We will be back in February, as the show is biannual.  Looking forward to it!

While there we had photographer/producer/screenwriter, Dan Dwyer, shoot some work.  Thank you Dwyer! Go to Lesley Anton: Utility  to check out the complete collection of work.
